The sky's the limit

My school day today!(part4/5)

Monday, January 25, 2010

Today was another day with the CDE-TTT lesson. This time, there were no teachers around in the class. Yay! However, we had to split up into groups of 5( but my group only got 4 people) and try to think up a plan to raise funds for the President's challenge, or for the recent Haiti earthquake victims. The President's challenge was started in 2008, to raise funds to help those who are less fortunate. Besides thinking up the plan, we also had to write the details like "When", "Where", "What","Who" and "How". Our group thought of a flea market which can be held in school, reducing the cost. We will make our own things to sell or we could also donate any new but unwated or unused items. The money we get will all go towards charity. Our Peer Students Leaders(PSL) had already done this project and assisted us in working the details out. It was quite fun as one of the PSL, Tze Yang, put that our estimated money collected is $5 million. I mean seriously $5million? Isn't that too much? Maybe he wanted to give us that sum of money. We learnt the value of compassion anyway. Ok, now skip skip skip fast foward. Here we are at Miss Hashimah's lesson. Miss Hashimah:" Now I want you to finish everything by Wednesday." Wednesday? We already had Maths homework and we had to finish the bear head by Wednesday? Look at my half-finished bear head. I mean, I am not a good tailor. No wonder no one likes to take Home Economics at O-levels. Ah, time to finish the homework! See you all next time, that is tomorrow!
